  • Q1: How strong is the 2" wide by 0.047" thick, UV resistant, black polypropylene, non-tubular webbing?

  • A1: It is rated at 1,000 pounds and is considered "light weight" webbing.  A loop would hold 2,000 pounds minus any weakness caused by hardware or the one small fastener hole.  We've tested it up to 180 pounds with no problems.

-----

  • Q2: Is there any reason to use heavier polypropylene webbing?

  • A2: NO!  Do NOT use heavier polypropylene webbing!

-----

  • Q3: Is tubular webbing suitable?

  • A3: Yes.  For colors and patterns and custom photo-printed webbing, use 2" wide, 0.055" thick, tubular polyester webbing.  Do NOT use "picture quality" 2" webbing because it is typically 5,000 pound test, which is just way too thick and stiff and bulky.

  •  Q4: Can I trim off excess webbing after adjusting my strap?

  • A4: Yes, and it's very easy to do!  Cut with a sharp scissor and then flame the cut end for roughly 2-3 seconds.

-----

  • Q5: Can I leave the strap a little long to make sure I don't trim it too short?

  • A5: Yes, for sure!

-----

  • Q6: How do you ship?

  • A6: We typically use a 9"*6"*3" cardboard box with a waterproof (thermally printed 4"*6") label, with everything, including the postage, on the label.  Treasure Sifter beach cleaning scoops have a 6"*6"*40" box.  We ship USPS Priority Mail but may ad other options.

-----

  • Q7: International shipping?

  • A7: We are adding that.

-----

  • Q8: What kind of webbing "weave" is best and would non-woven material, like leather, work?

  • A8: A loose weave where there is slippage in the webbing works best.  Leather has no slippage, so an edge may tend to dig into your shoulder under certain circumstances.

-----

  • Q9: Do Cam Heady camera straps come with an optional safety tether in case the main strap somehow pops off from the camera?

  • A9: Yes.  After lots of prototyping, we found that the best tether is a length of black 550 parachute cord tied with a simple square knot.  We tape the loose ends with black electrical tape to make it all very sleek.  It's simple, strong, quiet, and reliable.

-----

  • Q10: Is black the stock color for all Cam Heady straps.

  • A10: Yes.

-----

  • Q11: Which mounting hole on the Pod Plate should I use?

  • A11: 99% will use the hole closer to the middle of the plate.  Since there are two holes, placed asymmetrically, you have four ways to place the plate to balance you camera.  Your Arca-Swiss-style clamp provides additional leeway to balance your rig.

-----

  • Q12: Do Cam Heady products come with a wide assortment of fasteners to enable mounting to nearly any camera out there?

  • A12: Yes; you will receive a wide assortment of fasteners to cover nearly any mounting scenario, even if you want to use the Camera Strap on one camera and the Pod Plate on a different camera.  The fasteners are 18-8 stainless steel, (AKA SS alloy 304) and have a black oxide finish and utilize hex keys.  Hex key heads are much better than ordinary slotted or Phillips heads.

-----

  • Q13: Can Treasure Sifter beach litter scoops be made is custom colors like blue for Pepsi Cola or red for Coca-Cola?

  • A13: Yes, and at least 1,000 pieces should be run per batch.  There is some assembly time needed, too.  The bottom screen is a #3 mesh, AKA 1/3" nominal, stainless steel (alloy 304) welded hardware cloth.
